couple weeks ago, i went with my bro n sis to watched movie. i decided to watch ola bola.. i had the urge to watch this movie...
for starter, i'm not football/soccer fan, also i didn't know why the hell they didn't go to Olympic that time.. after my bro explain to me.. i said "ah......" ( kind of clueless of history-lah)
they did a good job with the cinematography, i felt the mood of that era. they played with my emotion successfully and the suspense when they score overwhelmed me. i cried a bit. the story based on the true event but it has slightly change, i can't put my finger on (because i didnt know the history..huhu im to lazy to search). you can search: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980_Summer_Olympics_boycott
back to cinematography..
they play with the angle of camera for creating the feel around the stadium and the top view of sabahan island ( yes i know it sabah). the music they put compliment the scene as it not give weird and awkward feeling. i will not go through the script because it good rather than other Malaysian movie that i had watched. the poster itself give the hint of the story.
based what i see from people review, they said this movie is for malaysian not malaysian movie. because they story itself give motivation to the audience to never give up. the situation in the film is the same what happen today. people give up hope for national team. even the movie itself not fully malay it show multicultural races in malaysia. you might said they put more english language than malay itself. in my opinion, english also one of the importance language in malaysia. but the important is
"GOl,GOl,GOl,GOl,GOl!"
